2022 Fall Art Auction

Thank you to everyone for your support! The event is sold out and ticket sales are closed. We will not be able to provide tickets at the door. We hope to see you at our next event!

Join us in downtown Durham!

The event will take place on Saturday, October 8 from 6:30-9:30pm with a Special Supporter hour from 5:30-6:30pm. Thanks to a generous donation from Luis and Monica Alvarez, this year’s art action will be hosted in-person at The Rickhouse, a unique downtown Durham restaurant and event space. In addition to the art auction, the event will include a casual dinner, an open refreshment bar, and live music.

Event Schedule

• 5:30-6:30: Special supporter hour with Dr. Luke Smith. Includes premium parking access, signature cocktail, appetizers, and pre-event art viewing
• 6:30-7:30: General admission access. Includes open beer/wine and non-alcoholic bar, live music, and art viewing
• 7:30-8:00: Mexican-American dinner served
• 8:00-8:30: Remarks from event co-hosts Monica and Luis Alvarez, El Futuro Executive Director Dr. Luke Smith, and inspiration moment
• 8:30-9:30: Live auction and bidding

Expresiones / Expressions

This year’s Art Auction theme is Expresiones/Expressions as it speaks to the juxtaposition of the work of the artist and the individual who uses the therapeutic services that El Futuro offers. We believe that therapy is similar to art in that it is an expression of the inner self, but in order for the person to feel free in their expression, several elements must be in place: space, guidance, and the freedom to experiment with different approaches. El Futuro works with families in this way - by providing a safe space where they can express themselves, experiment with alternatives, open themselves to creative problem solving, explore their emotions and move forward. As a result, we are promoting a world full of color and self-expression.

Your ticket and participation in the event

El Futuro is covering all costs so 100% of your ticket price and participation in the event goes to El Futuro’s mission to nurture stronger familias to live out their dreams. Thank you!
